Everything that happened last week in Ukraine and the world and is relevant for the furniture maker, read our digest:

1. Last year, businessmen most often complained about taxation – 61% of the total number of disgruntled businessmen. This is stated in the annual report of the council of business ombudsman.
In addition, 14% of complaints were received regarding the actions of law enforcement agencies, 7% of state regulators, and only 4% regarding the activities of local governments. Most of the complaints were filed by Ukrainian companies – 85%, of which representatives of small and medium-sized businesses – 73%.
If we talk about the industries, then the most complaints were to the wholesale trade – 29%. By industrial production – 13%, agriculture – 10%.
“More complaints have been received on unjustified additional charges and fines after tax inspections, on tax criminal cases and the activities of the National Police and the Prosecutor General’s Office,” the report says.

2. Once again, the prestigious international award Red Dot Award from the Ukrainian designer. This time, Victoria Shklyar, designer and head of the Form Bureau interior studio, can be congratulated on the victory in the Product Design nomination. The authoritative jury liked the series of cots, which the designer developed for the metropolitan manufacturer “Interia”.
The Red Dot Award is one of the most respected world awards, annually awarded to designers and manufacturing companies for special achievements in the creation and design of consumer goods. Getting Red Dot for Ukrainians is not a one-time achievement, but already a nice nice trend. For several years in a row, our countrymen (Pavel Vetrov, Valery Kuznetsov, Sergey Gotvyansky and others) received this award.

3. The company for the production of “smart” mattresses – “Eight Sleep” introduced its newest product – a mattress with liquid cooling Pod Eight Sleep. She focused for a while on the bed temperature, first offering a “smart” mattress cover, and now a “smart” mattress, which allows owners to adjust the temperature of its surface and even set different temperature settings for different sides of the bed.
The Pod mattress is powered by a device attached to a bed, which essentially performs the functions of a computer, connects to Wi-Fi.

4. In Irkutsk, in March, the World Day for Sleep was originally celebrated. Of course, not all earthlings spent the whole “sleepy” day in beds, but nine residents of Irkutsk did just that. They became participants of the “Healthy Sleep Championship”, which was conducted by a company specializing in the manufacture of mattresses in the city’s shopping and entertainment complex.
Right in the middle of the hall on the first floor of the shopping and entertainment center nine mattresses were laid out (of course, from the initiators of the competition), in which participants who had been selected in their pajamas and sleeping masks tried to sleep as much as possible for live music and the usual noise of the shopping center on weekends. Each “Sonya” was provided with an “intelligent” pillow that accurately determined whether a person is really sleeping or only pretending. The 33-year-old championship winner slept for 20.5 hours, for which he was awarded the main prize – an anatomical mattress.

5. Coloring fabric appeared on the market of furniture upholstery materials.
Those who invented it, no doubt, were guided by the fact that it is difficult to imagine a child who does not like to draw. Of course, you need to paint coloring, not wallpaper and furniture, but, probably, no mother has yet been able to protect themselves from spontaneous children’s works. And most likely, not one of them regretted it, because creative games are the most fertile ground for the development of a child. And now, if children’s furniture will be upholstered with a fabric-coloring or a duvet cover will be sewn from it, the child will have a place to show his creative activity without fear of getting a scolding. After a week or two, an ordinary bed will turn into a unique art object.
Anyone who is interested in such a textile novelty, the manufacturer instructs: paint upholstery need special markers for textiles.
