Design event: “Why beauty is in time.” Post announcement

On March 9, the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers in partnership with the company Adler Ukraine and Pragmatika media held a charity event “Why beauty is in time. History, development and relevance of the aesthetic component in design”.

Ukrainian furniture and door manufacturers, interior and object designers, suppliers of goods and services for the furniture and door business, as well as media representatives, were invited and participated in the design event. In general, all those who are interested in the topic of the development of the aesthetic component in the design, the prospects for creating collaborations between manufacturers and designers.

The main goal of the event was to create and organize a platform for door and furniture manufacturers to communicate with architects and designers for further cooperation and the creation of joint projects.

In order for this cooperation to take place under a peaceful sky, we made the event charitable. We sent all received donations to snipers in the hot spots of Ukraine. This became possible thanks to Nadiya Rodionova, the director of Adler Ukraine – a leader in the production of ecological paints of impeccable quality.

For many years, ADLER has been an invariable parterre of UAFM and the entire furniture industry.

“It is important for me to maintain cooperation with designers and manufacturers of furniture and doors. Organizing events such as UAFM events is a great opportunity to create a platform for people to meet, and share experiences and ideas. My goal is to provide professional support to designers and manufacturers in choosing the optimal paint and paint materials for their projects. I believe that such cooperations help manufacturers and designers realize their ideas and mutually complement each other in creating new, beautiful and functional objects. It is important for me to support such cooperation, as it contributes to the creation of better solutions and a high-quality approach to projects”, – Ms Nadiya Rodionova shared her thoughts.

The event began with a lecture by Kostiantyn Kovshevatskyi, co-founder of ProDeco2022, and co-founder and editor-in-chief of Pragmatika media on the topic: Why beauty is in time. History, development and relevance of the aesthetic component in the design.

“Design is undoubtedly a carrier of social change. But it is difficult to answer the question, which is primary – changes in design or changes in society.

We will trace exactly how the change in the understanding of aesthetics in design accompanied humanity from the golden age of Hellenic civilization to the critical events of our days. According to how the focus of perception of beauty migrated in human consciousness and creative activity. And we will find out why abstract philosophical categories, created more than 2000 years ago, still work today. And, of course, how they work.

In other words, let’s find the source and swim in the direction of what Praxiteles, Mark Newson and Lockheed Martin designers were guided at the same time.” – this is how Mr Kostyantyn Kovshevatsky announced his lecture.

Then the participants of the event became participants in a master class from the ADLER-Ukraine company and learned about the importance of proper surface preparation to achieve the desired finish look. The process of applying oil to oak veneer on a part that was half properly prepared and the other half left in its original state was demonstrated. Participants learned how proper surface preparation can affect the finished look and durability of a project.

After receiving valuable advice from Adler professionals, guests of the event participated in a great networking event, in which everyone had the opportunity to make new acquaintances and contacts. We hope that these meetings will develop into fruitful collaborations, the participants of which will create joint bright projects.

The attention of the audience was captured by the charity auction, the proceeds from which, like the incoming donations, we sent to the brave snipers.

There were fierce competitions for each patriotic lot and not a single one went unnoticed, for which we are sincerely grateful to our participants.
