On July 3, a coaching session with participants of the UK trade mission was held within the framework of the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program, which was devoted to the preparation of Ukrainian furniture manufacturers at B2B meetings and business visits to Manchester as part of the Manchester Furniture Show.
The coach of the project was led by John Murray, Business Development Director at Ligna Group. John presented the program of the trade mission, spoke about the work of participants at the exhibition and made recommendations on communication with potential British partners. John also conducted several exercises with the participants, for example, how to present his company briefly and meaningfully “while the elevator goes up” (elevator pitch).
We discussed with the participants the expected results from the mission, and also provided brief instructions on logistics and business etiquette in the UK. Also during the meeting, a question and answer session was held with the representative of the State Office for Export Promotion to Ukraine, Oleksei Grushetsky, who helped the participants to better prepare for B2B meetings and provided recommendations on communication with potential partners.
Thank you all for your active participation and our experts for their help in the preparation! The trade mission of Ukrainian furniture manufacturers to the UK will be held from July 13 to 16, 2019. Participants will take part in B2B meetings, attend the Manchester Furniture Show, an international furniture exhibition, and will also visit furniture factories in Leeds and Stockport.
We wish every member of the mission to find partners, return with contracts and become successful furniture exporters to the UK!
