LEAN Tour Rivne: from metal to upholstered furniture

How can you spend a day in Rivne and get the maximum value for your business?
On May 27, we found the answer — by visiting four manufacturing companies in a single day!

.

.

We started at Garne, an apparel manufacturer that shared its Lean implementation journey. Producing 10,000 garments per month, operating its own sewing school, and maintaining uninterrupted production even during power outages. An unexpected first stop for furniture manufacturers — but a highly relevant one.

.

Next was Metalista. A producer of metal furniture components with a team of 130 employees, robotic welding, and laser cutting technologies. As graduates of the UAFM Lean School, their well-organized processes clearly reflect Lean principles in action.

.

Then we visited Hjort Knudsen. With 16,000 m² of production space and 7,000 sofas and armchairs manufactured every week, all for export markets. A Danish brand that continues investing in the development of its Ukrainian production facilities despite the challenges of war.

.

Our final stop was Eskada-M, presenting perhaps the most impressive case of the day. Order lead times were reduced by half, rework hours decreased from 1,400 to 180 per month, and overall efficiency increased by 36% — all within a highly customized production environment where every order is unique.

.

We would like to thank all four companies for their openness and willingness to share their experience, as well as the Rivne Furniture Cluster for supporting the tour.

.

See you on the next tours!
