New format of the design exhibition: Ukrainian Design Brands

Ukrainian designers were the first to boldly challenge the coronavirus, organizing a large-scale public event under quarantine restrictions – an exhibition with the eloquent title “Ukrainian Design Brands. Total presence”. And the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers supported them in this. They are the design and implementation agency Maino Design and its partner, the open platform KOOPERATIV, which offers a new look at the workspace that inspires creativity and stimulates innovation.

The exhibition will be quite long in time. New and better works of creative Ukrainian designers and manufacturers will be shown in two dimensions simultaneously: physical and virtual. From 5 to 19 September, a traditional exhibition of subject design will take place, and in parallel from 4 to 18 September, the same exhibition will be shown at the Digital Fair of the Paris exhibition “Maison et Obje”. A virtual tour of the Kyiv exhibition and virtual showrooms with the possibility of sales will be available to professionals from around the world, and Ukrainians will see for the first time live what is usually exhibited in Paris.

The exhibition – both in Kiev and Paris – will feature designer furniture for the home, for adults and children, outdoor, ceramics, art objects and carpets. Among the participants: “Art & Design by Kristina Gaidamaka”, “KASSONE”, “Container design studio”, “miracle2people”, “Sleep.Onnn”, “GOMINGIR”, “ZEGEN”, “GORN”, “RDWOOD + Ryntovt Design” and FFFACE with two brands – Waone Interesni Kazki and Neutrum.

It is expected that this exhibition project will gather not only a professional audience, but also a wide range of business-oriented and cultural community interested in the development of the country’s economy.

“In the situation “when we make history”, we had a unique chance to offer adaptation and a new solution for new realities of life and doing business. The design sector as a component of creative industries is one of the most potentially promising areas of the economy in the future. Our work is to promote the transformation of Ukrainian creative potential into a full-fledged economic resource,” – comments Anastasia Biletska, curator of the Ukrainian Design Brands project and creative director of Maino Design.

For public visits, the Kyiv exhibition will be open from September 6, all days except Monday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Location of the site “KOOPERATIV” – st. Sich Riflemen, 23-a. Admission is free, but with prior registration.

Of course, there will be quarantine warnings: there will be quarantine restrictions on visits at the location: a social distance of one and a half mayors, a mask regime.
