UAFM has sent official appeals to the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, emphasizing the urgency of adopting this legislation.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"613\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"613\">Why Is This Important?<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"615\" data-end=\"784\">Draft Law No. 4197-d aims to ensure transparent market conditions for timber trade, positively impacting the woodworking and furniture industries. Its adoption will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"1203\">Provide priority access to raw materials for Ukrainian processing enterprises<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"1203\">Extend the moratorium on the export of unprocessed timber, fostering domestic production<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"1203\">Introduce transparent and competitive auctions for timber sales<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"1203\">Establish clear and open methods for determining market prices for timber<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"1203\">Regulate mechanisms for timber allocation for security and defense needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1235\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1205\" data-end=\"1235\">Call to the Verkhovna Rada<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1237\" data-end=\"1622\">The Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers urges the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to immediately adopt Draft Law No. 4197-d in the second reading. This will contribute to the sustainable development of the woodworking industry, ensure Ukrainian manufacturers have access to high-quality raw materials, and strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic furniture sector.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1624\" data-end=\"1666\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"1624\" data-end=\"1666\">NACP Meeting and Research Presentation<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1668\" data-end=\"2048\">On February 14, 2025, a presentation of the study &#8220;Corruption Risks in Forestry&#8221; took place. This research was conducted jointly by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor\u2019s Office of the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office of Ukraine,
