1. While the Cabinet of Ministers is planning to create a million jobs in five years, the number of people working without registering labor relations or registering entrepreneurship is decreasing in Ukraine, that is, the level of informal employment is falling. This was reported by the State Employment Service.
\n\u201cThe rate of informal employment is the lowest in the last 10 years, because the promotion of childization remains a priority of the State Employment Service,\u201d Olga Makogon, the director of the service, is quoted in the message. \u201cThe number of employed people aged 15-70 years in the first half of 2019, compared with the same period in 2018, increased by 202 thousand people and amounted to 16.5 million.\u201d<\/p>\n
2. January 1, 2019 the vast majority of the technical standards of the Soviet Union \u201cGOST\u201d, developed before 1992, ceased to be valid in Ukraine. In total, more than 12,000 Soviet standards should be abolished, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said in a statement. But 1173 Soviet GOSTs are still valid. They will be valid until January 1, 2022.
\nSince the continuation of the Soviet GOSTs after 2022 is impossible, the Ministry of Economic Development and the National Standardization Body recommend that all interested parties who use GOSTs \u201cfind an alternative to using the standards of the Soviet Union, which are actually regulatory acts of an already defunct state and contradict the innovation in the field of technical regulation Ukraine and Ukraine\u2019s international obligations to reform the field of technical standardization, provided on the WTO Agreement and the Association Agreement with the EU. \u201d<\/p>\n
3. Proof of this is the decrease in inflation to 7-7.3%. This was stated by Chairman of the National Council for Economic Development Andrei Doroshenko. He said that 2018 consumer inflation was at about 10%, and in 2017 – 13.5%. According to Doroshenko, curbing the hryvnia affected the containment of prices for consumer goods. But at the same time, the decline did not become more significant, since the only question that no one can answer is what the course will be in a month. And business, when it lays a course in the price of its goods (both imported and produced in Ukraine), does not know which course to follow, said Andrei Doroshenko. He added that both buyers and sellers benefit. Buyers receive a partial benefit from strengthening the hryvnia, but sellers, manufacturers and suppliers are the first to receive additional profit.<\/p>\n
4. The average purchasing power of Ukrainian in 2019, as in 2018, remains the lowest in Europe. This is evidenced by the data of the analytical company “GfK”, which annually conducts research on purchasing power among 42 countries.
\nAccording to the study, after paying the required payments, Europeans spend an average of 14,739 euros (408.4 thousand UAH) per person per year, while Ukrainians spend only 1830 euro (about 50.7 thousand UAH).<\/p>\n
