Everything that happened last week in Ukraine and the world and that is relevant to the furniture maker, read in our digest:<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

1. One of the most anticipated retailers – the Swedish furniture concern “IKEA” – has begun renovating the premises for its store in the capital’s shopping and entertainment center “Blockbuster Mall”. This is the third attempt by the Swedish network to start its own trade in Ukraine, not counting its failed start of online sales.<\/span><\/p>\n

IKEA is preparing to open its first store in Ukraine with a view to autumn-October-November. “Repairs in the room are in full swing. The area of \u200b\u200bthe future store will be about five thousand square meters, “the director of the chain of stores, who wished to remain anonymous, told the authoritative business publication.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. The volume of rail transit of containers through Kazakhstan in January-June this year increased compared to the same period last year by 54%. In June, despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the difficult economic situation in the world, the volume of rail transit of containers has doubled compared to the same month last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

“In order to maintain the existing indicators, Kazakh railwaymen plan to maintain high speed through Kazakhstan, reduce administrative barriers, modernize infrastructure, optimize technological processes at Dostyk and Altynkol stations, reduce delivery times,” said the press service of the Kazakh national railway operator.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Ivano-Frankivsk police conducted mass searches on the territory of several forestries in the case of illegal deforestation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Law enforcement officials found that officials in several forestries abused their official position and were in a previous criminal conspiracy with businesses providing logging services “by entering inaccurate information into official documents and their subsequent use.”<\/span><\/p>\n

During searches in one of the mountainous areas of Prykarpattia, police found and seized a significant amount of wood of various species without documents of origin and without electronic accounting chips. Police also searched the sawmills for legality.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. The Ministry of Digital Transformation has developed an interactive map of the business support infrastructure on the “Action.Business” platform. It is noted that thanks to this map you can get additional features and save time for searching:<\/span><\/p>\n

5. The Danish architectural firm BIG has presented a factory project for the furniture company Vestre, which is planned to be built in a forest in eastern Norway – the factory promises to be the most environmentally friendly in the world. The amount of waste and carbon emissions is promised to be reduced by 50% compared to the world’s furniture industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

The complex with an area of \u200b\u200b6500 square meters is made in the shape of a cross, each individual wing corresponds to a specific functional purpose: a warehouse, a painting shop, a woodworking shop and a platform for assembling furniture.<\/span><\/p>\n

The plant, which is built of local low-carbon wood and concrete using secondary reinforcing steel and is equipped with an ecological energy supply system, will be the first industrial project in Europe to have the highest environmental rating of BREEAM.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t
