1. Ukraine has agreed with Hungary to provide Ukrainian carriers with an additional 900 transit permits for road transport without paying transport tax for 2020, which will be transferred through the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary in the early fourth quarter of 2020. A preliminary quota of 31,750 permits for Ukrainian carriers has been set for 2021.<\/p>\n
Communication with the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issue of obtaining the required number of permits for Ukrainian carriers is also underway. Decisions are now being made by the competent authorities of these countries. There is also a positive consideration of the request of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine for additional exchange of permits with the Hellenic Republic.<\/span><\/p>\n 2. In the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, at a meeting of Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova with representatives of the National Reform Council and a delegation of business associations, they discussed investment protection and improving the business climate in the country.<\/p>\n During the meeting, the parties discussed steps to increase business confidence in legal mechanisms to protect against criminal encroachment. In particular, it was a question of development of standards of activity of prosecutors in criminal proceedings concerning business entities for prevention of ordered criminal proceedings, raids, illegal interference and pressure on business and from law enforcement agencies.<\/span><\/p>\n 3. The launch of private traction can be one of the solutions to the problem of shortage of main locomotives in Ukrzaliznytsia.<\/p>\n “We have issued an order to determine the first participant in the pilot project for the admission of private traction entities. It became the “Ukrainian Locomotive Company”. Creating a competitive railway market is one of Ukraine’s obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU, which provides for the involvement of private carriers on the railway. “Our main goal is to eliminate the shortage of traction and Ukrzaliznytsia’s monopoly, satisfying the interests of the business as a shipper,” said Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy.<\/span><\/p>\n 4.
