A real lesson of minimalism<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\nEverything that happened last week in Ukraine and the world and that is relevant for the furniture maker, read in our digest:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n- The Verkhovna Rada passed a bill postponing its entry into force for nine months to indicate and submit information on the ultimate beneficial owner and the ownership structure of the legal entity. This will allow companies and NGOs to avoid fines ranging from UAH 17,000 to UAH 51,000, which they could receive due to lack of time to gather the necessary information.<\/li>\n
- The Cabinet of Ministers approved amendments to the Customs Tariff of Ukraine regarding the unification of import duty rates. The bill proposes to unify (revise) import duty rates taking into account the related WTO rates for 92 goods, which are classified according to their chemical composition, degree of processing, technical characteristics, etc. and which cannot be accurately identified at the time of customs clearance without additional laboratory tests. As a result of unification, import duty rates on some goods will increase slightly, on others – will decrease. It is also proposed to increase the level of full import duty rates to the level of new unified preferential import duty rates.<\/li>\n
- The National Bank of Ukraine has adopted a resolution to change the rules of storage, protection, use and disclosure of banking secrecy. In particular, it is provided that the bank discloses information constituting bank secrecy at the written request of the owner or with his written permission. Information on the escrow account and on transactions with it is disclosed by banks at the written request of the beneficiary. Information on the balance of funds in the bank account, property rights and transactions with money is also disclosed at the written request of the encumbrancer, who has such a right under the contract.<\/li>\n
- Analysts call natural stone, which is now readily used by furniture makers, the material of the future. The main trend is the growing role of digital technologies in all processes and areas related to stone. Now more and more companies are trying new approaches to expand markets and take advantage of new technological opportunities. This applies to everything – especially the methods of stone processing, which are increasingly similar to the fiction of science fiction. Plasma, laser, high frequency currents, hydroabrasive and other devices are used for high-precision operations that allow you to “cut” the stone and achieve any configuration. For example, in recent years, digital technologies have significantly changed the way we make – and as a result, the market – desktops, because at almost all stages – from manufacturing to sales and planning, digital solutions have simplified the production of quality products. Now, on modern equipment, most operations are performed by a computer instead of a human.<\/li>\n
- Successful industrial designer Mark Newson, who now works in London, has developed a modular rack system Quobus. The reason for their appearance was the opening of a new space Galerie Kreo in London’s Mayfair district. The design of the rack, cast from metal and enamel, to which Newson has a special attitude, is a real lesson of minimalism, simplicity and at the same time variability. The design allows to create various interpretations – from a traditional format of a grid to more difficult combinations in which forms and various drawings are investigated. The new system is designed to develop spaces of different scales – its size can be changed at will.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
