“Thank you for the organization. You guys are great! There were small nuances, but they did not depend on you. Very professional and thoughtful. And the company of top people!”

“Thank you very much! It was interesting and informative, and combined the pleasant with the useful! Work and rest!”

We start our post-announcement precisely with the feedback of the participants and, first of all, we thank everyone who was with us these three days and entrusted their time to gain new knowledge and impressions together with the Association!

Every year, UAFM organizes a Lean tour to Transcarpathia, but last year, due to the unstable situation with the war, we decided to skip this trip, beloved by many of our participants. However, this year we dared and decided to make a trip – and we did not lose! The tour was wonderful and full of impressions. In the Transcarpathian lands, we not only enjoyed the beauty of the picturesque region but also actively worked, communicated, and recharged, which, as it turned out, was necessary for many participants.

Since the beginning of the war, company owners and managers have been working under great pressure of responsibility, not allowing themselves any relaxation, and were on the verge of stress and burnout. It was the understanding of this difficult and dangerous situation that inspired us to hold a tour this summer. Feedback from the participants after the event confirmed our hypothesis regarding the necessity of holding the event. We learned from them that this trip became a life-saving retreat for many, which provided new strength, knowledge, insights, and useful acquaintances that should contribute to strengthening businesses and creating new projects and solutions.

Transcarpathia is famous for its woodworking and furniture production. We had the opportunity to see highly professional productions and, accompanied by Lean consultant Olga Peretyatko, get to know efficient business owners who successfully implement Lean tools to optimize processes and export their products.

During the program of the tour, we visited the following productions:

The experience of these entrepreneurs was a great reward for us, and we gladly took many valuable lessons with us.

But we didn’t just work on this tour – we also enjoyed the magical places and activities that Transcarpathia offers. Tasting of local cuisine, trout, and craft beer was a real gastronomic delight and contributed to friendly networking among the participants. And the climb to Hoverla mountain gave everyone a charge of energy, positivity and motivation to continue conquering the heights of business.

Of course, this tour was not just a trip – it became a holistic experience that combined study, work and rest. For the first time during the tour, we shot a full-length film, in which we tried to document the Ukrainian business’s desire for development, perseverance, hard work, openness and unity of the members of our community, which help us confidently move forward and develop the furniture and door industry even in the most difficult conditions. See how we did it soon on our YouTube channel and get inspired for your own improvements.
