1. The large Lviv-based company “Mebel Service” generates thermal and electrical energy from its own furniture production waste using its own biogas plant. The company is not only energy independent but also sells excess energy produced to the country’s power grid. This is the first biogas plant in the Lviv region that works with furniture production waste.
2. The temporary investigation commission “Natsresurs”, which has been studying the state of affairs in the forestry industry for six months, found that every second tree felling during logging is not monitored by state authorities, meaning it is carried out illegally. There is also a widespread practice of lowering the quality of timber and exporting forest materials at a price three times lower than the market price.
3. The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Yuriy Bolokhivtsya from his position as head of the State Agency for Forest Resources. He is expected to be appointed CEO of the state enterprise “Forests of Ukraine.” 145 branches of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” have already been established based on state forestry farms.

The National Bank of Ukraine has provided e-residents with the opportunity to transfer funds in foreign currency received into their Ukrainian bank accounts from non-residents for services or work performed abroad to their accounts abroad after paying taxes in Ukraine. Such transactions will not involve the purchase of foreign currency and will be made in the foreign currency received by the e-resident from abroad.
6. “Nova Poshta” has launched a new format of modular mobile branches for work in de-occupied territories. This year, the company plans to manufacture and install 20 such branches. It is now possible to send parcels to Velikiy Burluk in the Kharkiv region, where the first such branch has been launched.

9. Thanks to FSC-certified products, Polish furniture manufacturers have achieved export expansion worldwide. However, currently, organizations that unite companies in the furniture and woodworking industries, as well as regional directorates of state forests in Poland, are refusing certification in the FSC system.

Ukrainian furniture manufacturers can make a breakthrough in the Indian furniture market with the help of the local international interior design exhibition “Index New Delhi 2023”, held from August 11 to 13. During the same days, the “INDEX Fair Delhi”, the leading international fair of interior products and materials for all areas of use, will also take place.
