  1. Since the beginning of May, new licenses from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) have come into effect for non-banking financial institutions that engage in funds transfers in the national currency. Many market participants have not yet obtained the new license due to a complex procedure and lengthy document review process, which may pose business risks in payment transactions with unlicensed financial partners.
  2. The Ukrainian startup “Instock” is working on a Robotics-as-a-Service solution for e-commerce clients. It is a robotic service for warehouses and order processing that may also be of interest to furniture manufacturing and supply companies. Warehouse robot manufacturers strive to make their operations no more complicated than household vacuum robots.
  3. The “E-Export Intensive” program is launching in Ukraine to help veterans and displaced persons start their own businesses. The goal is to create about 1000 export-oriented businesses within two months, providing opportunities for initial sales on platforms such as eBay, Etsy, Amazon, and Shopify.   4. A significant number of economic indices are expected to be published this week, setting trends for the near future. As for Ukraine, the National Bank will release macroeconomic indicators, consumer price indices, sectoral indices, and a range of operational data.
  5. Financial experts predict that the currency market will remain stable in the next two to three months, with no significant fluctuations in exchange rates. The National Bank of Ukraine has successfully managed to reduce the demand for currency and balance it with supply but does not plan to release the exchange rate, believing that the time for a floating exchange rate has not yet come.
  6. Despite all the crises caused by military actions and mass blackouts, last year did not break the record for the number of closed businesses. The number of newly registered sole proprietors (209,000) significantly outweighs the number of those that ceased to exist (203,921). As of the beginning of April, there were 1.9 million sole proprietors and 1.2 million companies registered in Ukraine.
  7. Someone figuratively remarked, “Women drink 500 cups of coffee with the wrong people, and men drink five cups of coffee with the right people and get the desired result.” The European Commission has created the initiative “WEgate” to support female entrepreneurship. In Ukraine, a similar proposal is offered to entrepreneurs by “UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group.”

In the production of painted MDF facades, the company “Berest” has successfully applied automotive painting technology, achieving originality in these furniture components, surface expressiveness, and unconventional colour solutions. The patina gives the product a resemblance to a furniture facade made of natural wood.
  10. Recently, another international furniture forum, the “interzum” exhibition fair, came to a close. Its central theme was expanding environmentally friendly furniture production and environmental protection. The exhibition showcased the innovations and advancements in this regard, giving insight into what to expect in the future.
