1. The Verkhovna Rada postponed to July the second reading of draft law No. 8401, which restores the pre-war conditions of taxation. The norms of the document provide for the cancellation of the preferential rate of the single tax at the level of 2%, effective from the spring of 2022, as well as the return of tax audits and fines for businesses.

2. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approved the provision of EUR 50 million to the state-owned Ukreximbank. The purpose of the loan is to finance private businesses and cities and other settlements affected by the war. Half of the loan risk will be covered by the EBRD’s Special Crisis Response Fund.

3. Ukrainian enterprises are preparing for new electricity tariffs. They should grow significantly. It is planned to increase the maximum price from UAH 5,000 to 5,428/MWh, and the minimum price from UAH 1,152.8 to 2,714/MWh. NCRECU is expected to make a final decision on the new electricity tariffs in the coming weeks.

4. Furniture makers will soon have to establish business relations with new officials. It was decided to introduce the post of deputy chairman for the reconstruction of war-torn areas in relevant ministries and regional military administrations, who will coordinate these processes.

5. In the Lviv salon “ANRI” the company “Building Star” held a competitive event on the topic “Designer of creative, functional space”. The competitive task was the completion of objects by groups of architects and designers led by experts in furnishing materials.

6. The stories of Ukrainian brands that find the strength to grow during the war, and implement long-term ambitious plans despite the circumstances, will be heard on June 29-30 during the 16th Ukrainian Marketing Forum. The organizers have prepared panel discussions on the most important business topics this year.

7. In times of crisis, experts advise, a furniture company should focus on one thing. It is not necessary to have a wide range of products or a large number of customers. It is possible to abandon some aspects of the activity, and for this, it is necessary to identify promising markets and actively conduct activities in them.

8. “IKEA” celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. On this occasion, the company museum in Elmhult opens two completely new exhibitions: “IKEA through the Ages” and “Hey Ingvar”! The first is a flashback, and the hero of the second is the founder of the concern Ingvar Kamprad.

9. At this year’s “interzum” exhibition, the well-known European manufacturer of furniture accessories and components – the “GTV” company demonstrated the new Versalite PLUS+ ball guides, which significantly expand the functionality of the entire family of its drawers and boxes.

10. The Polish Ministry of Development and Technology is already thinking about the possibility of the participation of Polish entrepreneurs in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, in particular furniture manufacturers. The Trade and Investment Agency has published a catalogue of Polish companies that are ready to participate in aid to Ukraine.
