1. Ukraine has become an associated member of the “Three Seas Initiative,” which includes 12 European Union countries located near the Baltic, Black, and Adriatic Seas. This membership will allow us to improve the delivery of export goods by sea, which has been a challenge for Ukraine.

2. Ukraine is preparing a global insurance mechanism that will help unlock ports for all types of export cargo. It involves insuring up to 30 vessels every month bound for Ukraine, with potential losses of up to $30 million covered by state funds. Ukrainian exporters are already booking their first bulk carrier ships to access Black Sea ports.

3. Starting from November 7th, Ukraine will change customs control and documentation conditions for both import and export cargo to harmonize its customs legislation with EU standards. Certain provisions that allowed the non-presentation of export cargo to customs will be excluded from the Customs Code.

4. Ukraine is considering implementing the Polish tax model for individual entrepreneurs to differentiate small businesses from medium and large ones. This model includes a higher transaction limit and different tax rates for various types of activities, with production taxed at a low rate of up to 3% and services taxed between 12% and 20%.

5. During the 10th International Congress of the Woodworking Industry held in Poznań, Poland, the Chairman of the Association of Wood Processing Enterprises of Ukraine, Pavlo Vasilyev, and representatives of the Polish Association of Wood Processors signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

6. A resident of Zhytomyr, Serhiy Petrushevsky, an operator of a wood bonding line, manufactures and provides military personnel with wooden-cased diode “candles” after work. He uses any available wood or even a mix of woods for the casing.

10. The well-known German woodworking machinery conglomerate “Homag,” popular among furniture makers worldwide, has decided to limit its participation in exhibitions to “local decentralized events” due to economically challenging times that require stricter cost management.
