On September 30, we’re heading out on a new UAM Lean Tour — this time to Chernivtsi and the Chernivtsi region!

Ahead of us is one packed production day: 3 companies, 3 different production systems, dozens of solutions and practices you can see live and analyze together with Lean consultant Bohdan Mazurkevych.

We look at companies through the eyes of practitioners: how processes are built, where value is created, how workstations and flows are organized, which tools help boost efficiency, and what from what we see can be adapted in your own company.

This time we’ll be visiting:

🏭 Vodograi
A full-cycle construction company: in-house design, construction of business-class residential complexes, and development of surrounding infrastructure — from landscape design to video surveillance, ventilation, and fire safety systems. Newer projects feature modern energy-efficient technologies and underground parking.

🏭 UkrDrevExim
A company specializing in the production of sliced veneer on modern FEZER equipment — a slicing machine and press dryer that ensure consistent product quality: the required thickness, elasticity, and moisture content across the entire sheet. Products are FSC®-certified and exported to eight countries — Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Israel, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, and the Czech Republic.

🏭 Bukovynska Lamel
A company producing peeled beech veneer and bent-glued parts made from it — blanks for furniture and other wood products. The company controls the full cycle: from veneer peeling to the finished part. Complex shapes are milled on 5-axis CNC machines, and an edge-gluing machine ensures a smooth surface with no glue seams or stains. The portfolio includes over 100 press molds and 400+ products: children’s and school furniture, office chairs, kitchen stools.

Together, we won’t just observe how these companies operate — we’ll also pay attention to flow organization, waste, standardization, workstations, and management decisions. We’ll discuss what we see and look for ideas participants can take home and apply in their own companies.

In the evening, we’ll gather for a joint dinner to discuss the day, share the main takeaways, and continue networking in an informal setting.
