Among the hundreds of professions that humanity needs for its full life, there are the so-called prestigious, fashionable, heroic, classified, those whose need has disappeared or is about to disappear, but are eternal. What people needed a thousand years ago will be in the future, which we can imagine.

The profession of furniture maker is just that. And if a young person on the verge of adulthood is faced with a choice of life, and if he makes a choice thoughtfully, like an adult, and not focus only on naive children’s dreams or fashion trends, he will not miss the furniture.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the most popular professional fields among university entrants in 2019 were the following:

• philology 67957 applications;
• law 69307 applications;
• management 54766 applications;
• computer science 40356 applications;
• economics 30142 applications.

This phenomenon is due to the lack of information about the profession because few people know that bachelors and masters of the furniture industry are not layout designers at all, they are designers who use IT technologies in their work, perform intellectual work. The big myth is that the profession of a furniture maker is a constant noise, dirt and manual labour, but no, today the profession of a furniture maker is a work of the head, silence and constant inspiration.

Ukrainian industrial designers win prizes and awards at international subject design competitions such as the Red Dot Design Awards, Industry, International Design Award, Design and Design International Awards, etc.

Ukrainian furniture adorns the Facebook office in London, the Mall in Dubai, the residence of Al Badie group, the Royal Beach Hotel in Eilat and many other famous places in the world.

The furniture maker is provided with a workplace and a decent level of income

The creation of furniture has long gone beyond the craft, it is a creative and high-tech business. Today, furniture is made not only traditionally from wood, but also from dozens of other materials, including the latest, created by nanotechnology. Not only with the use of traditional tools and equipment, but also with the wide involvement of IT tools. All this makes the profession of furniture not only necessary but also interesting. And well-paid today – which is also important, which can not be ignored, going into adulthood. Today, a skilled furniture worker in Ukraine receives a salary of at least 15 thousand hryvnias, and a furniture designer and designer in particular – 17-25 thousand and more.

“Already today, the furniture industry in Ukraine is experiencing a significant shortage of staff. When one resume on the market 5-10 vacancies. Which on the one hand indicates the opportunities for the applicant, and on the other hand may be evidence of the complete absence of young furniture specialists for 4-5 years.

Furniture maker is an international profession with a high demand for specialists

The profession of furniture is international. A qualified specialist will find application of his skill and knowledge in any part of the world – furniture is produced everywhere, and everywhere there is a demand for skilled hands and a thinking head. From year to year the demand for furniture products does not decrease, but only increases – no good furniture maker will be left without work and a decent reward for it. According to research by Zion Market Research, the global furniture market by 2024 will grow annually by 5.2% to 472.3 billion US dollars.

By the way, this is also very important now, because not every school will accept a graduate of the school with open arms, but our industry – will accept.
