Prospects for innovative development of the capital region

Prospects for innovative development of the capital region are very attractive, so the program of such development includes a number of large-scale and ambitious projects. For example, the creation of the Slavutych industrial business park, which has already become a driver of the region’s open and free economy. But there are a number of other projects that are no less important for the region’s economy. In particular, they were discussed at the online round table “Innovative development of the region and the smart-specialization of the Kyiv region: the state and prospects of development.” Invited representatives of business, research and educational institutions presented their projects and visions for the further development of the region’s innovation ecosystem. Among the participants of this event and its speakers was a member of the board of the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers Oksana Donska.

Creation of a large-scale national cluster project

The invitation of the UAFM representative to participate in the round table organized by the Kyiv Regional State Administration was fully motivated. The list of innovative projects in the capital region includes the creation of a furniture cluster, which, as already known to UAFM members, is part of a large-scale national cluster project implemented under the auspices of Kronospan and involved in the Ukrainian Association of Furniture  Manufacturers, seeing cluster business associations. the higher level of furniture cooperation.

 

 

 

Projects implemented through the cooperation of furniture makers

     In her smart-up speech, Oksana Donska not only actually presented to the participants of the round table the idea of ​​a furniture cluster for Kyiv region but also told about the first steps of its implementation. She also proved with concrete facts and figures that the domestic furniture industry, being a priori convenient for clustering, is not only ready for such a high level of cooperation but also already has some experience in this business. In particular, acquired by member companies of UAFM and distributed by the Association. For example, last year the furniture cluster of the export direction, created within the framework of UAFM, increased the volume of sales of Ukrainian furniture to Israel by 104%. The project of the first Ukrainian B2B exhibition “Furniture of Ukraine Business Expo” is also the product of cooperation with the participation of UAFM. UAFM’s grant project   – “R&D UNITS: design needs” is nearing completion. We should also mention the development and submission of two more important projects for the furniture industry: the creation of a furniture school (project amount UAH 10,986,400) and the promotion of the national brand Furniture of Ukraine (project amount UAH 8,575,000). Cluster plans Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers and reached the international level: it clusters invites other countries to jointly implement the grant project «Clusters Go International» (COSME- GA) with a budget of 7 500 000 euros.
