 Everything that happened last week in Ukraine and the world and that is relevant to the furniture maker, read in our digest:

1. The state service “Diia” published a video with answers to the most frequently asked questions about the payment of one-time financial assistance to private individuals in the amount of UAH 8,000. The video was posted on the YouTube channel “Diia”.

The head of “Diia” Mstislav Banik in the format of “question-answer” answers the most common questions about the payment of one-time financial assistance. It also reminds about the specifics of the service and the terms of its receipt tell about other news in “Diia”.   

2. Ukrainians have been warned about changes in the procedure for registering value-added tax (VAT) taxpayers: many transactions are translated into automated and electronic formats. Tax authorities assure that the innovations are aimed at simplifying the procedure of registration, re-registration and cancellation of registration of VAT payers. But they warned that the software for the introduction of the VAT register – in terms of automatic re-registration and cancellation of registration – is still being finalized. Until then, the existing procedures for maintaining the VAT register will be applied.

3. Deputies of the Kyiv City Council supported the decision to extend the benefits introduced in March for entrepreneurs in the capital who suffer losses due to restrictions imposed in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. The decision provides for both the extension of benefits that the city has already provided and their establishment for other categories of entrepreneurs. This will allow them to save jobs. And in general – the small and medium business of the capital.

4. Agency MAINO DESIGN UKRAINE” invites Ukrainian brands to participate in the project ” Ukrainian Design Brands: Interior DECOR 2021 “. The scope of the project is design, craft design and design on the border of art and design, so all exhibits are available and recommended for immediate use. Participants will be given the placement of their works on the project exposition in the space ” KOOPERATIV”.      

Project objectives:

  • integration of Ukrainian design products (decor) into real projects of a professional audience of practitioners: architects, interior designers, decorators – Ukrainian and international;      
  • establishment of processes of commercial cooperation between manufacturers of Ukrainian design and decor, salons, shops and end consumers;      
  • promoting environmental education in a wide Ukrainian audience of consumption through design tools, forming a culture of consumption of products that contain meanings and transmit values      

    Date: from February 27 to March 6.

5. The Main Association of the German Wood Industry (HDH) has introduced a new sectoral initiative “Climate Protection and the Wood Industry”. The aim of the initiative is to transform the German woodworking industry into one of the first climate-neutral industries in the German economy.

HDH Managing Director Danny Onesorge explained that climate change is detrimental to forests even without greenhouse gases, as exemplified by the effects of three dry years. Therefore, an industry that needs quality forest should be the first to stand up for its climate protection, primarily by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
