Read everything that happened last week in Ukraine and around the world and that is relevant and interesting for the furniture maker in our digest:

1. Depending on the group of the single tax of the private entrepreneur January 1, 2022, the following rates of the single tax are established: private entrepreneur of the I group – 248,1 UAH; private entrepreneur of the II group – UAH 1,300.

It should be noted that for self-employed persons of group I the rate of single social contribution is set at a level not exceeding 10% of the subsistence level for able-bodied persons established by law on January 1 of the tax (reporting) year, for self-employed persons of group II – not more than 20% wages established by law on January 1 of the tax (reporting) year.

Each full-time employee who works at the minimum rate (UAH 6,500 from December 1, 2021) will have to pay to the budget a tax of UAH 1,170.

2. Law 5600 “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine” was envisaged as one that was to increase the tax burden on big business. However, the amendments that affect the interests of small businesses were not without their chances.

In particular, the law stipulates that tax audits must be accompanied by video recordings. It also provides for the right of the taxpayer to record on video the progress of the audit.

On happiness were excluded on amendments enabling the tax authorities to impose a tax lien on all property taxpayers with the delivery of tax notification solutions. Everything remains the same: a tax lien can be imposed only after the court decision by which the tax liability is considered agreed has entered into force.

3. 20-year-olds are radically changing the rules of the game in the Ukrainian labour market, not very interested in the size of wages. For themselves, they seek psychological balance, and employers require tact.

Experts call on employers to be patient: the country is facing a staff shortage, and therefore even demanding lazy people will be in dire need in 10 years.

4. Norwegian designer Sigve Knutson has chosen the most successful and interesting objects he has created in the last five years for the solo exhibition “Assembly” in the Athens “Carwan Gallery”. Knutson made some of the exhibits especially for the exhibition, inspired by the surroundings of the port area of Piraeus, where the gallery is located.

Nominally, Knutson’s works fall into the category of “subject design”: they guess tables and stools, shelves and racks. However, from the point of view of execution technique and general aesthetics, these are, of course, sculptures – asymmetrical, with organic contours and obvious traces of handwork on textured surfaces. Knutson is attracted to imperfect forms, tactile inequalities, strange silhouettes that refer to archaic totems or resemble alien life forms.

5. Italian designer Lapo Chatti and the brand “Opinion Ciatti” has released a universal desktop Macis. Thanks to the minimalist design, the item will fit into the office and home office. According to Chatti, he designed the Macis table in response to the rapid changes in the world. The item is made of steel and treated with light oak veneer. Thanks to a thin tabletop 70 cm wide, as well as an aluminium roller that connects the legs of the table on one side, the object is easy to move and fit into different spaces. In addition, the user can increase the length of the tabletop thanks to the folded blocks-“wings” located on the sides.
