Read about what happened last week in Ukraine and the world, and what is relevant and interesting for the furniture expert, in our digest:
1. The Verkhovna Rada supported the simplification of the procedure for submitting information on the ultimate beneficial owners of legal entities, necessary for financial monitoring.
Adoption of draft law No. 6320 will help ensure the possibility of electronic submission of information about the ultimate beneficial owners of legal entities to the Unified State Register. Everything will happen without queues, without providing unnecessary paper documents. The document proposes to cancel the requirements for the exclusive notarization of copies of documents submitted to confirm the identity of the ultimate beneficial owner. It is also proposed to automate the verification of information using the tools of the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services.
2. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during the annual conference “Yalta European Strategy” in particular said: “Buy Ukrainian, support each other – today is a moment that will help Ukrainian business to survive. This cannot be a program, but it can be our philosophy, our idea: to support Ukrainian manufacturers – from small to large – so that they can withstand and survive this war today.”
3. In order to simplify business life, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft Law “On the accelerated revision of instruments of state regulation of economic activity”.
The draft law uses an approach to the systematic revision of outdated and imperfect norms, which has the romantic name “Sunset condition”.
It is assumed that from January 1, 2023, a double requirement for the validity of state regulatory instruments will apply throughout Ukraine: they must be defined by laws and included in the government’s decision to approve an exclusive list of state regulatory instruments, formed based on the results of the work of the Commission on Issues of Accelerated Review of State Instruments regulation of economic activity. All other instruments will be considered invalid.
4. The Polish export locomotive, as the country’s furniture industry is called, is beginning to slow down – according to the data of the Main Statistical Office on the production of furniture sold in the summer. Analysts warn that the first serious harbingers of a further slowdown have also appeared: if from January to May the growth rate varied from 20% to even 27%, then in June and July it was significantly lower. It appears that the Polish furniture industry has actually recorded a decline, and this trend is expected to continue in the coming months.
5. The Austrian company “SIBU” offers the Ukrainian market a new product – facing panels. They can be used to decorate various surfaces: from walls to furniture, as well as applied to curved kitchen elements such as grates, wall panels, facades, etc.
The material combines high aesthetic and functional qualities. These panels are made of durable plastic imitating leather, aluminium or stainless steel. They are very flexible.
