Industrial parks as the basis of furniture clusters

The Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers continues to work towards the creation of industrial zones, where Ukrainian manufacturers of furniture and furniture forms could open productions and warehouses in one territory. After all, such zones allow saving on logistics and infrastructure costs, such zones are a magnet and an entry point for buyers and investors.

On September 25, 2020, UAFM representatives represented by Board Member Oksana Donska, Vemakids factory owner Gleb Guralchuk and Top-Art owner Andriy Kolesnyk visited a potentially interesting for the furniture cluster facility in Borodyanka, located 35 km from the capital on the international route. significance of Kyiv-Warsaw.

The object is a developed territory of the plant with an area of ​​about 40 hectares, the area of ​​production facilities of 75,000 square meters. There are dormitory buildings, a dining room and an administrative building with a total area of ​​about 5,000 square meters.

Significant advantages of establishing an industrial zone of furniture makers in this area are transport connections in the form of entrances from the Kyiv-Warsaw route and the railway track, equipped with a gantry crane and connected to Borodyanka station. The facility has all the necessary communications for the organization of production: electricity, water, drainage and gas. Premises of shops with the area from 1000 to 25000 sq.m.

The plans of the Association include an in-depth study of the technical documentation of the facility, as well as research on the prospects of establishing a furniture cluster here with the support of the local community, Kyiv Regional State Administration, donors and investors.
