The first material for vintage furniture is “processed” by nature
Furniture makers who work with natural wood are special. However, why special? The only exceptions are the fact that most of their colleagues now use composite materials in their furniture and furniture business, but in fact, judging objectively, it is the “straight people” who are true furniture makers who continue the tradition of cabinet makers.
Speaking specifically about Solovero furniture makers, the definition of “special” is fully valid here, because they are the only ones in Ukraine who work not just with solid wood, but create vintage furniture exclusively from naturally aged wood
“There are companies that mimic the aging of wood in various known ways, in particular brasuvannyam,” said Irina Trinkal, deputy director of the company. – We don’t resort to such “pseudo”. We are searching all over Ukraine and – although it’s not so simple – we all find really old wood from old structures in a natural way, we have served and sorted it out, “giving way” to a new one – residential buildings, barns, Indeed, now more often than not we are in search of material for our furniture, but we are found by those who “extract” such valuable material. We offer the wood we undergo a thorough check (for radioactivity – not from the exclusion zone, do chemical analysis, check, out of date N fake), and only then buy and put to use.
“How old should the wood used be, so that it suits you?” And how do you define her “age”?
– For us, the exact “age” of the aged tree is not important. The fact of natural aging is important. We have been dealing with this material for more than three years, and our experts have developed methods and techniques for distinguishing real aging from fake, sometimes we have to reject those sellers who are trying to deceive, knowing that aged wood can be sold at a higher price. In general, we work with wood in the age range from 20 to 150 years.
– Your furniture just asks for interiors decorated in the currently popular lofty style …
– Yes, we are fans and promoters of this style. Loft is one of the most popular design styles for both residential and commercial interiors of recent decades. And this, of course, is no accident. The spacious layout, the abundance of natural light and air, natural materials with minimal (often manual) processing, simplicity and functionality, combined with elegant thoughtfulness of details – all this makes the loft especially attractive for modern people. We value it for freedom of expression, comfortable living space and a unique opportunity to combine modern design with natural (especially vintage) materials.
– Your products must have great export potential: firstly, environmental, which is very much appreciated abroad, and secondly, it should attract not only from natural wood, but also from the fact that this wood can be said in its own way exotic.
– Nevertheless, our furniture is still more popular in Ukraine. But we are actively trying to interest our products abroad. First of all, due to participation in exhibitions. Already been in Estonia, Finland, next in line is an exhibition in Germany. Although one-time foreign orders were already carried out for customers from Austria, again Estonia, Finland, Germany.
