Read about what happened last week in Ukraine and the world, and what is relevant and interesting for the furniture expert, in our digest:

1. The President signed Decree No. 654/2022, which approved the agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on freight transportation by road.

The purpose of the agreement is to temporarily facilitate road freight transportation between the European Union and Ukraine, as well as transit through their territories by granting additional rights for cargo transit between both sides of the agreement in connection with the consequences of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. The agreement includes simplified recognition of driver’s licenses.

2. The government encourages entrepreneurs to create jobs through the provision of state grants for business start-ups and development. The state pays money to entrepreneurs who hire internally displaced persons. In total, they have already received 122 million hryvnias for providing work to more than 11 thousand displaced people.

“In addition, we are waiting for parliament to support another of our initiatives: to provide business compensation for the employment of certain categories of citizens, in particular, young people for their first jobs, participants in hostilities, and single parents,” said Economy Minister Yuliya Svyridenko.

3. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine expanded the list of enterprises to which compensation will be paid for sheltering internally displaced persons. According to the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, not only state and communal enterprises, but also legal entities, non-profit organizations, religious organizations and others will be able to receive compensation. 450 hryvnias per month will be paid for each resettled person – this amount should go to pay for communal services.

4. A novelty has appeared on the furniture textile market: the expressive Allora fabric with chenille weave from the Select by Lech company. Its irregular stripes and exceptional softness to the touch are the answer to the latest trends in the upholstery industry.

The original design, supplemented with original colors, will allow you to decorate any sofa or armchair. In addition to the delicate shine characteristic of chenille yarn, Allora is characterized by delicacy and high technical parameters. Interweaving, emphasizing the 3D effect, gives the fabric density and volume.

5. The Misty furniture collection of the Wajnert Meble company received a gold medal in the “Consumer’s Choice” category at the Polish international exhibition DREMA.

Our furniture makers will be interested in why the collection of Polish colleagues received such recognition. And thanks to the fact that it combines two extremely practical solutions: a seat with an electric drive, which significantly increases the useful space depending on the needs, and comfortable double back cushions with a lifting system.
