1. We have captivated London designers and architects with Ukrainian furniture. Now it’s your turn to act! 2. To fill the shortage of qualified personnel in the industry and ensure its further development, UAFM started work on the project “School of Furniture Makers”. This innovative idea involves specialized training courses for operators of woodworking equipment and furniture designers, with a duration of training from 1 to 3 months.

3. First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyridenko confirmed that the Cabinet of Ministers does not intend to increase tax rates next year. Instead, the growth of the tax base due to business development is expected.

4. The government has invested UAH 40 billion in the draft state budget for 2024, on programs to support economic recovery and programs to help Ukrainian businesses.
In particular, 18 billion of them are for the “5-7-9” preferential lending program; almost 5 billion for the “eRobota” grant program.

5. The Cabinet of Ministers added two more to the Register of Industrial Parks, one of which is “Iskra” in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Among the directions of his work, in particular, is woodworking. Also, furniture manufacturing enterprises will be able to work on the park’s territory.

6. The State Tax Service actively monitors social networks Facebook and Instagram and other Internet sites and tracks citizens and businesses that violate tax legislation. In particular, make sales or provide services without registration of business activity and do not pay taxes, or pay them incompletely.

7. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of 3 million hectares of Ukrainian forests, according to the report of the Acting general director of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” Yury Bolokhovets, suffer from hostilities and are potentially contaminated with explosive objects and debris.

About 700,000 hectares remain under occupation.

8. In September, the interior design studio “MAKHNO Studio” completed the amazing OKO HOUSE project, which combines elements of different schools and aesthetics – in particular, the Japanese “shoin-zukuri” – so successfully that they turn into something very whole and radically new.

10. In Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, one by one, furniture production enterprises are closing down. The reason for the wave of bankruptcies is simple — loss of competitiveness due to high prices for electricity and consumables. In particular, the company “Vilnius Furniture”, the largest furniture factory in Lithuania during the times of the USSR, declared itself bankrupt.

11. In Kazakhstan, the national project “Comfort School” provides an unprecedented share of cooperation with local furniture makers. 95% of furniture for new buildings must be of domestic production. In total, 401 modern schools are planned to be built in the country in the next three years.

12. The designers of the Dutch studio “The New Raw” together with their British colleague Gareth Neal have developed a method of 3D printing, including furniture, based on weaving. This method is endowed with a bright visual component: an unusual braided pattern resembles products woven with knitting needles or crochet.
