All that happened last week in Ukraine and in the world and relevant to the furniture industry, read in our digest:

1. The National Bank abolished the mandatory sale of foreign exchange earnings by business. This is done in order to further simplify the business. The norm, which obliged entrepreneurs to sell 30% of foreign exchange earnings on the interbank foreign exchange market, ceased to apply from June 20. The NBU noted that another currency depreciation would not have negative consequences for macro-financial stability. Since the beginning of the year, the National Bank has canceled or softened more than 30 currency restrictions.

2. The European Union intends to continue the pilot program for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine by 2021. This was stated by senior advisor on SME development policy EU4Business-FORBIZ Ricardo Pinto.
According to Pinto, Ukraine is a big country, so, when implementing various initiatives, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of each region. The Chernihiv oblast, namely the cities of Chernihiv and Nizhyn, was selected for the pilot program for the formation and implementation of an effective SME development policy.
Colleagues-Chernigov, do not miss the chance to take advantage of the decision of the European Union.

3. Pixel design confidently entered the interior design and took its niche there. The new generation, which has grown in the new digital reality, has proved that the beautiful can be found anywhere, even in pixels of the monitor.
Abstract drawing with alternating and combining stripes, squares and rectangles. All the charm of the design lies in the fact that a set of shapes can be arranged in an arbitrary order. As a result, this will not affect. This is like the “Square of Malevich”. When there is an idea, its implementation is no longer fundamental.
However, the design that Vincent Garcia Gimenez has invented for the Italian company EmmeBi is even more interesting: they usually print a picture, and Vincent Garcia did the opposite – he printed the background. For example, on the front of the cabinet a picture in the form of a pixel background is printed on the top of the veneer on the printer.

4. In the range of “IKEA” there were furniture for people with disabilities. This is a collection of “Omtenxam” (translated from Swedish – “caring”). All items of the line are designed by IKEA designers with the participation of specialists in ergonomics, physiotherapists.
In a series of chairs that sit comfortably and easy to get up, decorative pillows that support tired back. Soon, these and other furniture and accessories will expand the assortment of goods for the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen – they are already in the process of development.

5. In recent years, the export of furniture from Estonia has increased by 60%. It is no coincidence that at the winter Cologne furniture exhibition, attended by nine companies from Estonia, which offered a variety of products to the western buyer.
Interests of all Estonian exhibitors were presented by the sole trading company “Enterprise Esstonia” – one of the five consulting agencies created on the initiative of the Ministry of Economy. One of their main goals is to help Estonian companies wishing to sell their products abroad.
Estonian manufacturers are keen on establishing themselves in the western market thanks to the original design of their products. One of their advantages is that they do not require expensive import materials. Estonian forests are the source of high-quality wood, which gives the furniture owners considerable advantages.
