On February 2, a seminar on “Modern materials for decoration and restoration of furniture” was held on the initiative of the department staff and the Українська Асоціація Меблевиків, was held at the Кафедра технологій та дизайну виробів з деревини. The representatives of the company Colormarket made an interesting report from UAFM.
The interesting moments of wood finishing processes were considered. In particular, they settled on the peculiarities of the chebbi-chic or provence style. Today, this particular style is a trend abroad, and in Ukraine it is gaining popularity and is mainly used in the HoReCa segment.
Дима Орел (Dima Or) and Vitaly Bierko and Vadim Susko, technologists, led the woodworking department at the Colormarket company and conducted practical exercises on the re-creation of the chebbi-chic coating, while using environmentally friendly products. At the beginning, the lighting of the “Provence” style features was carefully responded to by this design decision, since most of them work with wood, love it as a material, and consider that the wood texture is not advisable to be covered with an opaque coating. However, as far as the practical skills in which a 2nd-year student took Kolomiets Alexander took place, a keen interest arose in the possibility of using the technology independently when updating to shoot furniture to give them a second life.
The greatest interest was caused by the restoration of furniture technology. During the demonstration of practical skills in the restoration of furniture, students have already competed for the right to try to repair damaged areas of board materials and solid wood products.
The seminar was so interesting that the students did not want to let the speakers go !!!
Having found out that the Colormarket company holds seminars for production workers, 14 students expressed their desire to join the event!
