Exports of furniture (code 94) of Ukraine in 2019 increased by 7.8% compared to 2018, amounting to USD 674.3 million and exceeded the volume of furniture imports by almost twice (USD 372.2 million). The majority of Ukrainian furniture manufacturers exported to Europe – 84% of the total. 59% of imports come from Asian countries.
The furniture industry of Ukraine has created a positive trade balance in the amount of USD 302.1 million.
Exports of furniture, bedding and mattresses (groups 9401, 9402, 9403, 9404) for 2019 amounted to USD 628.8 million.
Overall Since 2009, exports of goods under the 94 FEA code (furniture, bedding, mattresses, lighting and prefabricated building structures) have increased by 11.4% annually, with imports increasing by 2.4% annually over the same period.
The strategic goal of Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers is to increase the sales of furniture in Ukraine and the world. For this month, UAFM members and other market participants conduct educational events, cooperate with governmental organizations, Ukrainian and international civic organizations and donors. With the support of donor organizations, representatives of the Ukrainian furniture industry are able to participate in trade and scouting missions.
