Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers is launching a joint initiative to develop the export potential of SMEs, which includes funding for certification, the implementation of which the Association began with the assistance of the USAID Economic Development, Management and Growth of Entrepreneurship (EDGE) Program.

The initiative to develop the export potential of SMEs and partially offset the costs of FSC (Forest Management System Certification) or PEFC (Supply Chain Certification) certification, which will last from August 2023 to May 2024, aims to provide financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises for certification with the mentioned standards, as well as consulting and informational support related to the certification process.

Within the framework of the project, 5-6 SMEs receive financial support (the amount of support per enterprise – on average up to UAH 100,000), which will be selected through an open competition. The competition committee will include representatives of the USAID EDGE Program and UAFM. Enterprises will be financed the actual majority of the cost of the certification company’s services (individually in each individual case, but not more than the maximum amount agreed by the project).
