The best advertisement for your product is himself

As the ways of the Lord are inscrutable, so are the ways of export. We were convinced of this once again when its owner, Varenycia Manufacture, told the export history of his company Андрій Варениця (Andriy Varenycia).

– Our first potential foreign customer came to Lviv and settled in a hotel that we furnished. Our work struck him. On the same day we discussed the project of his private apartment. We agreed without knowing what a foreign order was. The customer has disappeared for a while. At a time when we were expecting his call, Lviv designers turned to us with a proposal to take part in an Austrian project, because, they say, they heard that we receive foreign orders. So the first our real foreign client was not the one who first made us an offer. We know our business, but we had no idea what international logistics is. With the help turned to the Association. Vladimir Patis introduced us to specialists who helped with customs documentation and transportation.

– And what for you for the first time turned out to be the most problematic and troublesome?

– In fact, our first attempt to export our product abroad was even earlier, and it was a failure. The Lvov citizens who bought an apartment in Krakow undertook to make the stairs and doors. Made. We were assured that there would be no problems with the delivery – in Krakow, however, it was within reach. We believed, and with it left ?! At the border, our doors were holed, checking, we didn’t carry smuggling into them, and the truck with the ladder was generally put on the penalty area, because it was either not suitable for the transportation of such goods, did not have the necessary permits for it. On that day, we made the final decision to continue to act according to all the official customs rules, and at UAFM, we helped with this. There were no more misunderstandings with customs.

– And in what directions are you planning to expand your export horizons, so to speak?

– There is an order in France. We are negotiating with Italy. The other day I am flying to a meeting with an American, who has chosen the furniture of Varenycia Manufacture, during a visit to his friend in Istanbul – also our client. Similar examples once again prove that the best advertisement for a product is itself. The product will say for itself, all that is necessary. Will say more convincingly than a deft manager than the most convincing advertising.
