Over three days, we visited five different production sites: Fischer-Mukachevo, Wood Paletten Express Service, K’Len, Mayr-Holzwaren-Teresva, and Pavlyk. Each company has its own scale, processes, challenges, and solutions — and that is exactly what makes this format so valuable: you get to see different approaches to manufacturing and understand what really works in practice.

Together with Bohdan Mazurkevych, participants looked at production processes through the lens of Lean: how workplaces are organised, where waste occurs, how internal logistics are structured, how teams operate, what has already been automated, and which solutions can be adapted to their own companies.

There were plenty of questions for owners and managers, as well as many open and honest conversations about what worked, what had to be changed, where mistakes were made, and which tools delivered the greatest impact.

But a Lean Tour is always about more than production sites.

Between the visits, we also had time to experience Zakarpattia itself: a Stakhovsky Wines tasting over a shared dinner, a visit to a sturgeon farm, plenty of informal networking, and, to finish it all off, rafting on the Tysa River.

It is often during these conversations after a full production day that new contacts, partnerships, ideas, and solutions begin — and continue long after the tour itself.
