  • The application of national standards will be voluntary
  • The functions of the Commission will be transferred to the courts
  • Gas for industry rises in price
  • IKEA already sells not just furniture, but entire rooms
  • Intelligent kitchen assistant

Everything that happened last week in Ukraine and the world and is relevant for the furniture maker, read in our digest:

1. The Verkhovna Rada took another step towards improving the national standardization system with international and European practice. The deputies adopted the law “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine in Connection with the Adoption of the Law“ On Standardization. ”This law, according to the explanatory note to it, provides, inter alia, the norm according to which the application of national standards in the manufacture of products will be voluntary.
In 1993, Ukraine introduced its national standards – GOST (State Standard of Ukraine), although these were the same renamed Soviet GOSTs, which, if necessary, began to be amended. Today, manufacturers can produce products, both in accordance with GOST, and in accordance with the technical specifications (TU), which they develop themselves and then register with certification authorities. However, this does not mean a weakening of control by the state, it is just that the official has been taken away the exclusive right to determine what this or that product should be.

2. Minister of Justice Denis Malyusk suggests transferring the functions of the Commission for the consideration of complaints in the field of state registration to the courts, and rewriting the software for real estate and corporate rights registries with open source.
“The commission should not exist for more than 8-9 months. Summer Plan – we will set up software for registries and procedures in such a way that there is no commonplace need for the existence of the Commission. Then we will simply transfer the functionality to handle such complaints completely to the courts and will no longer intervene in the registration actions in administrative order, as it is happening now. We will try to make the Commission a temporary, but high-quality tool that will serve to protect the business. Of course, if we fail in this for a month or less, then no better than that. But, in my opinion, a few more months will be needed until we change the procedures for transferring property rights to real estate and corporate rights. ”
The Minister assured that the Commission will work transparently, there will be an online broadcast of the meetings, and the conclusions will be published.

3. Naftogaz of Ukraine from October 1 increases the minimum price of natural gas for industrial consumers by 5.6% compared with September – up to 5878.8 hryvnia from 5568 hryvnia per thousand cubic meters, the company said. Moreover, the maximum prices for industrial consumers from October 1 will be increased by 4.9% – up to 6549.6 hryvnias from 6244.8 hryvnias per thousand cubic meters of gas.
As the company noted, Naftogaz’s price offers are differentiated depending on the volume of purchases and terms of payment. If the buyer has no debt to Naftogaz or will buy at least 50,000 cubic meters of gas per month, then the minimum price is set for him. In all other cases, a higher price applies. All prices are inclusive of VAT.

4. The IKEA brand trading platform in Groningen, the Netherlands, was the first where the network radically changed the standard display and ordered products by price.
A typical IKEA store is structured like this: furniture on the top floor, accessories at the bottom. The Dutch experimental store focuses on selling ready-made interior slots. Halls of the store have become thematic, the client can choose not only furniture for certain tasks, but also the entire room. “In this way, the Swedish chain hopes to attract its customers to complete purchases,” says store manager Stefan Cruz. At the same time, he emphasizes that the work of the test store is closely monitored by ikeivtsi from around the world.
The redesign was developed in accordance with the recommendations of employees and customers with an IKEA Family loyalty card, and theme rooms were designed in accordance with their ideas, needs and financial capabilities.
When creating the store, the income level of the average customer in the Dutch Groningen was taken into account.

5. In two Moscow salons for the sale of kitchens, the word “toy” appeared – the EYWA KitchenHub smart center. An intelligent kitchen assistant provided with a screen associated with the Google Assistant.
EYWA can do a lot: calculate the cooking time, issue video recipes, order food delivery, remotely turn on the kettle or multicooker, monitor the temperature in the house, spin favorite TV shows and more. The hub can not be built into the kitchen or in any other cabinet furniture.
The smart center was invented by Igor Lutay and Ruben Babaev. Now they hope to arrange the supply of smart panels to such leading market players as IKEA, Hoff, Giulia Novars. In parallel, programmers plan to expand the functionality of EYWA, agreeing to integrate with large aggregators of food and machinery orders.
