“UAFM in the faces”: the history of the formation and development of the company “Nesto” from its co-owner, Anastasia Nestor.
From idea to comfort furniture company “Nesto”
Nestor’s brother and sister, Andriy, and Anastasia have had a family furniture business since 2013. They didn’t think about the name of the company for a long time, like some of their colleagues, about whom we have already told: “cut off” the last letter from their own name, and it turned out very presentable – “Nesto”.
We heard the history of the company from the best half of the family tandem – Anastasia, who is a co-owner of Nesto.
In the beginning, the newly created company “Garage Fate” did not escape, which was inherited as a Soviet legacy by many domestic furniture companies of modern times, which started the furniture business modestly – with three or four most necessary – mostly used – machines, with several hired workers. production of any one type of furniture. But “Nesto” does not quite fit into such a scheme, because it immediately undertook the production of furniture of various functions and purposes. He continues to furnish in this way even today, although the production of kitchen furniture is a priority: it somehow became clear that they are a more popular product.
The end of the company’s formation, says Anastasia, can be considered the acquisition of its own brand and joining the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers. Again, if for other furniture makers the period of formation of the company ends with the acquisition of export capacity, then Nestor-furniture began to sell foreign orders at the stage of formation (apparently, still the way to foreign markets in companies in the western region – and “Nesto” from Lviv – a priori shorter not only geographically). Currently, Nestor’s export assets include projects, including turnkey interior design, in Germany, Austria, France, and Denmark. Their first foreign clients were Ukrainians living abroad. They are, of course, what the furniture makers from Stebnyk did for them, and are the main promoters of the furniture capabilities of the Ukrainian company among the native Germans, French, Danes, who were convinced that the furniture Nesto’s credo “From idea to comfort” is not just words. , and the real thing. And even the current “crazy” obstacles did not stand in the way: now “Nesto” is implementing a project to furnish a penthouse in Germany.
The company is one of those that can successfully do without full-time designers. First of all, because it usually implements ready-made interior projects provided by the customer or the customer’s designer. Staff designers with design inclinations cope well with others. As Nesto has learned to produce furniture of European quality, which is confirmed by the relevant certificates, there is almost no difference between the projects implemented on the domestic market and abroad.
At the end of the conversation, we asked Anastasia about the issue that is currently being discussed between domestic exporters of board materials and their manufacturers. Exporters claim that quarantine restrictions have to some extent disrupted the logistics of the supply of board materials, which is why furniture manufacturers are in short supply. They say that the restriction of imports, which is advocated by Ukrainian “tilers”, will only deepen the crisis. Anastasia confirmed that their company had suffered such annoyances. For the production of European-level furniture, the company usually uses imported “Eger” plates. The quarantine realities caused interruptions in their arrival, so Nestors had to look for a suitable replacement, which is not easy.
