Furniture shopping of the future

For those who use hand tools

Everything that happened last week in Ukraine and the world and that is relevant to the furniture maker, read in our digest:

1. The law on support for small businesses and people in the “red” quarantine zones came into force on Friday, April 9. From now on, individual entrepreneurs will be able to count on support, in particular for 8,000 hryvnias in one-time assistance.

In addition to state-guaranteed assistance, sole proprietors and employees will be able to receive additional payments from local budgets if the local government makes a decision.

Material payment can be obtained by registering through the application or a single portal of public services “Action”.

2. The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and the Public Association “Ukrainian Association of Business and Trade” signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The memorandum lays the foundation for active cooperation with the business community to support Ukrainian companies in the European market, promote export growth to EU member states, and develop new opportunities for our companies in the framework of the renewal of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

3. The All-Ukrainian Integrity and Compliance Network (UNIC), supported by the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program, has released a series of training videos on compliance under the Business Ethics for Small and Medium Business initiative.

The main purpose of these videos is to explain in simple and clear language what compliance is and what are the advantages of implementing a compliance system for small and medium-sized businesses.

Each series answers one of the questions that management faces at the beginning of building a bona fide and open business, as well as shares the experience of international and Ukrainian companies that have already established their own compliance systems.

4. The current quarantine reality proves that almost any purchase can be made online. Of course, buy furniture too. And if usually in online catalogs consumers only study the range and choose from what is available, the Polish startup “Tylko” has decided to move all stages to digital. To this end, it has attracted 22 million euros in investment for the development and distribution of its application in Europe. The founders consider the decision as a model of furniture shopping of the future and allow users to adjust lockers and shelves to the needs as much as possible.

5. A powerful cordless circular saw Crown CT25002-165HX is presented on the power tools market.

It is currently the most, so to speak, “adult” tool in the battery line B3 Plus from the company “Crown”. The powerful collector’s engine allows to cut a board of “fifty” in one pass, and a counter cut – a bar of “hundred”. Not every chainsaw can handle such loads.
