Everything that happened last week in Ukraine and the world and is relevant for the furniture maker, read in our digest:
1. The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine together with the State Financial Monitoring, the National Bank of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Finance signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in creating a mechanism for verifying information about beneficial owners.
Why is it worth attention and who cares? Today, the whole world is actively fighting the financing of terrorism, the laundering of funds obtained by criminal means, as well as tax evasion. First of all, verification of information on beneficial owners is carried out by banks that have the right to refuse to open a bank account if they have doubts. In Ukraine, such information is entered into the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs. Companies are required to establish their ultimate owner, regularly update information about him and provide it to the state registrar. Responsibility for the lack of this information also lies with the company itself. Unfortunately, today the information submitted to state registrars is not properly verified, therefore unscrupulous persons have the opportunity to indicate anyone as the ultimate beneficial owner of a legal entity.
If the mechanism being developed really works at the proper level, it will simplify the work of regulatory authorities in the fight against corruption and tax evasion.
2. The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to amend the decree imposing special duties on the electricity market will make it possible to reduce electricity tariffs for all household consumers. This was written on Facebook by the representative of the president in the Cabinet of Ministers Andrei Gerus.
“Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo will participate in special bindings for 90% and 35% of the electricity they produce. As a result of such changes, the regulator will be able to reduce electricity transmission tariffs from 32 kopecks. per kWh up to 11 kopecks.
3. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine transferred to the State Tax Service the functions of implementing the state tax policy, administering ERUs, combating tax offenses and other issues that the STS is responsible for monitoring.
The State Fiscal Service will cease to function after the formation of the State Customs Service is completed, the Ministry of Finance noted.
4. In early November, for the first time in Italy, the Forum for Design and Architecture “Best for Life Design Forum & Award” will be held. At one venue for the exchange of views, authoritative experts from the field of design, representatives of professional communities, and top managers of leading manufacturers of goods and services will gather. It is planned to create a creative space for productive networking and successful collaborations.
An honored guest of the “Best For Life Design Forum & Award 2019” will be the world’s leading designer Karim Rashid. Within the framework of the program of the event, he will deliver his author’s lecture, in which he will share with the Forum participants his vision of modern design and the design of the future, as well as tell about his famous commandments, which he adheres to and thanks to which he has become a “diamond of modern design”.
5. The American fashion designer and designer Virgil Abloy reconstructed the legacy of Jean Prouve and the wife of Eames to design the interior of the future. He delved into the archives of the Vitra furniture company, the copyright holder of iconic furniture, to assemble the Twentythirtyfive exhibition. Abloy rethought many of the iconic furniture brand products to help Vitra introduce the young man’s home in 2035.
Vitra turned to the fashion designer as a spokesman for the ideas of a new generation. Vitra specialists are sure: Virgil abloy, whose work covers fashion, architecture, music, furniture design and art, can make iconic brand products more accessible to consumers who are focused on social media.
