  • Bills that “have the character of tax terror”
  • Export pros and cons
  • Ukrainian businessmen are tough in negotiations
  • Chip measurements important for board material manufacturers
  • We are waiting for the “invasion” of Chinese robots

Everything that happened last week in Ukraine and the world and is relevant for the furniture maker, read in our digest:

1. At the official Internet site of the President of Ukraine, a petition has been registered to recall bills No. 1210 and 1210-1, such as those that “have the character of tax terror”. The petition was registered by the Council of Entrepreneurs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Entrepreneurs’ resistance was caused by rather controversial changes in tax legislation, including an increase in the timing of taxpayer inspections by regulatory authorities, exemption from liability of officials of regulatory authorities, an increase in rental payments for iron ore, a substantial increase in excise tax rates, etc., the petition says.
Earlier, the European Business Association identified 11 systemic problems of these bills. In particular, the EBA categorically opposed penalties for tax invoices, changes to the rules of transfer pricing, and additional VAT on exports.

2. In January-September, imports of goods exceeded exports by 7098700000. Dollars. This was reported by the State Statistics Service. The negative balance of trade in goods worsened by 549.9 million. Dollars compared to January-September 2018. I would like to know, of course, the same unpleasant situation in furniture exports or our industry still continues to show the opposite trend.
But the export of services exceeded imports by 4,227.6 million. Dollars, an increase of 4.8%, or 410 million. Dollars compared with the first half of 2018.

3. Tiberiu Dima has been working as a general director for seven years at the Ukrainian representative office of the German company BASF, which supplies, in particular, chemical products for various industries. He noted some features of doing business in Ukraine and the behavior of Ukrainian entrepreneurs.
“Ukrainians have a good sense of humor, but they are very serious at work. Although sometimes having a good mood during the working day is something that only contributes to the work. ”
“There is one tradition that seems to me a relic of the past: an extra formality in business correspondence and communication. Nowadays, communication methods are becoming more informal, so business relations can be simplified. ”
“Ukrainian partners are trying to be good negotiators, but their manner is quite tough. And they are trying to demonstrate their strong position from the very first words. That’s too much “.

4. 3D PARTICLE VIEW – measuring complex developed by GreCon for an objective assessment of chip quality. The thickness of these wood particles is an important parameter that affects the mechanical characteristics of the finished chipboards. The ratio of the surface of the chip to its volume is a decisive parameter affecting the efficiency of applying glue. Both parameters depend on the regulation of the knife ring and change as a result of wear of the protrusion of the knife in the knife ring of the planer. Using the equipment in question, it is possible to measure the entire geometry of the chips. Its length, width and thickness. It is possible to reduce material losses due to a special modification of the cutting part of the planer. It is also possible special regulation of the knife performance of the knife ring of the planer.

5. Asia’s largest woodworking machinery and furniture exhibition, CIFM 2019, was held in conjunction with the second stage of CIFF, the Chinese international furniture exhibition. Leading Chinese and international manufacturers met in Guangzhou to offer innovative manufacturing technologies, efficient solutions and advanced materials, focusing on the development of intelligent furniture manufacturing technologies in order to introduce specific innovative proposals and identify new trends in the furniture sector.
In the era of Industry 4.0, the need for integrated and interconnected solutions continues to grow. The possibility of inoperative (uninhabited) production can significantly optimize the production process. Especially with the use of numerically controlled machines, where the use of robotics plays an increasingly important role. That is why the Chinese robotics industry is developing rapidly. In the near future, Chinese sales of robots will make up 40 percent of total global sales.
