Sorry, the power does not allow …
Does a company that has one foreign project in its asset apply for its export history? Maybe we say. In the sense of a story about its beginning, about what may be hampering the development of foreign economic activity, about whether it even has export prospects and values. Actually, the co-founder of Cappuccino Interior and Furniture Studio – Cappuccino – студия интерьера и мебели Юрий Юрьев (Yurii Yuriev), spoke about this.
The first exported furniture project under the brand name “CAPPUCCINO” was commissioned by a businessman who is engaged in international cargo transportation. The history of this order is as follows. He wanted the interior of his house in the Seychelles to be made in Ukraine. I turned to CAPPUCCINO, because the studio is quite eloquently presented on social networks. Taking into account the scale of the project, the company compared its wishes with its capabilities and handed over the development of the interior design to a partner company, which undertook to develop a kitchen for the project, because CAPPUCCINO specializes in kitchen furniture. Moreover, only the author’s kitchen was of interest to the customer, he was ready to buy other furniture.
In general, the client turned out to be profitable not only because he made a large order, but also because he took upon himself, as an experienced carrier, all the troubles with the delivery of furniture cargo purchased in Ukraine to distant islands. Of course, customs hassle too. There was no need to send your team of installers to accompany the kitchen – the customer was given all the design documentation, all the drawings, according to which the furniture was mounted in the Seychelles.
I must admit that the kitchen project was not easy, including in the sense that the kitchen was designed based on the dimensions that the customer provided. And although he presented his measurements in the video version, it’s still not the case when the designer on-site attaches the project not only to the size of the room, but also to its architectural features, the scheme of engineering and technical communications and, in general, to the style of the whole house. However, they coped with the task successfully, the client was completely satisfied. They didn’t even need those few “fakes” that were provided for security – if all of a sudden some sizes do not match.
The interior and furniture studio “CAPPUCCINO” is quite successful in Ukraine. Successfully implemented dozens of interior and clean furniture projects, which, as they say, made a name for herself. But when such a fortune happened, which hundreds of Ukrainian furniture makers dream of – a proposal to furnish hotel kitchens in the United Arab Emirates – was refused. Such a tempting offer turned out to be overwhelming for the production facilities of the company, because it was necessary to issue four hundred kitchens during the place.
From the export stories that we told on the UAFM website, several typical obstacles have already appeared that prevent Ukrainian furniture makers from entering foreign markets or increasing their presence in them. And here’s another: you have to refuse profitable offers because of the inability to fulfill them on time due to limited production capacity. Indeed, it is very disappointing when a company can offer a design that will suit a demanding foreign client, a favorable price for him, provide the necessary quality of work, and you have to refuse the offer. And here we again come to the need to create clusters within the framework of the Association – by working together we can work together to make projects of any complexity.
Recently, on the Internet, the CAPPUCCINO studio legally boasted of its next kitchen project, successfully implemented jointly with interior designer Natalya Tarnavskaya. Due to the fact that it was possible to creatively realize the idea of ​​the Odessa customer about the Parisian interiors, it might seem that this is really a kitchen in Paris, and not like in Paris. Although such a kitchen performed by CAPPUCCINO (a fragment of it on our headband) could well have been in Paris. Maybe in time it will be, but for now the studio is focused on ensuring that its representative offices, in particular in the form of show rooms, are in every major city of Ukraine. However, it has been proved that success in the domestic market is one hundred percent “pass” to foreign markets, so that in Yuri Yuryev’s studio export prospects can be quite real and successful.
